26th Annual Wolf Creek Garage Sale Draws Thousands of Shoppers
A gorgeous fall Saturday with temperatures hovering around 68 degrees brought droves of shoppers from across Oklahoma, and surrounding states to once again seek those coveted treasures for which Wolf Creek has become famous.
The atmosphere was festive; the aroma of charcoaled burgers and hot dogs, even giant turkey legs filled the air. And the bargain hunters were out in force, pulling wagons, baby strollers and grocery shopping carts with which to haul off their new-found booty.
One out-of-state visitor was ecstatic, exclaiming, "I've never before seen a neighborhood sale on such a scale. After 26 years running nobody in Wolf Creek can explain why it is the longest-running annual neighborhood sale in middle-America-we're just happy it is-and that it's in our neighborhood."
On a more practical note, the Annual Wolf Creek sale is good for the Broken Arrow economy, bringing thousands of out-of-town and out-of-state shoppers, and thousands of dollars in additional revenue to restaurants, service stations and fast food and retail outlets.
